Cash Back Cards

Cards that return a share of what you spend as cash, statement credits or deposits, reviewed for how the earning structure actually fits everyday budgets.

Cash back cards come in three basic shapes. Flat-rate cards pay the same percentage on every purchase, which suits people who do not want to track categories. Tiered cards pay more in fixed categories such as groceries, gas or dining and a base rate elsewhere. Rotating or selectable-category cards pay the highest rates, but only in categories that change or that you must choose, often with a quarterly spending cap.

The reviews below explain each card's earning structure, redemption options, fees and drawbacks. Use them to shortlist cards, then confirm the current offer on the issuer's website before you apply.
